Hershel Austell Thompson was born on January 9, 1909. He was one of thirteen children and a well-respected, hardworking, and spiritual man in the community. Hershel touched everyone that came into contact with him and left a lasting impression. Although he was laid to rest in October of 1998, the values that he instilled in his grandson Chris Reeves, founder, brought him back to life in 2010. With the start of Down Home Brewing Company, came the rebirth of Hershel. He is the face of Down Home Brewing emulating the core values of family, respect, and ambition.
